Students in the Master’s program of Pharmaceutical Sciences in Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta are trained to have a scientific career in drug research and development. The curriculum was developed to enable the graduated Master’s students in Pharmacy (M.Pharm) to have sufficient knowledge and hands-on skills to be able to work independently as a scientific researcher.
The Master’s program of Pharmaceutical Sciences aims at:
- Attaining a deeper insight into pharmaceutical sciences that will enable students to integrate knowledge in drug discovery, development, formulation, and production;
- Attaining skills to perform scientific research in drug discovery, development, formulation, and production, using relevant methods and techniques, and stimulating a critical attitude towards the interpretation of data of scientific research;
- Attaining an attitude of problem solver and decision-maker in order to function well in a team;
- Attaining skills to present the results of scientific research in drug discovery, development, formulation, and production by oral presentations as well as written reports as scientific publications.
